What are they made of?
AUPA bars are made with the finest ingredients to ensure optimal nutrition and taste. We use only high-quality, grass-fed beef optimally sourced from local ranchers in Colorado. We also incorporate a variety of fruits and nuts, all sourced from American farmers, to add a touch of natural sweetness and crunch. To bind all the ingredients together, we use tallow, a nutrient-rich rendered animal fat. Our commitment to quality is not just limited to the ingredients we use, but also in the way we make it, each small batch is crafted by hand with care and attention to detail. We first created AUPA bars for ourselves, but we wanted to share them with anyone looking for a convenient and healthy snack option that aligns with their dietary needs.

AUPA Live Untamed Hat
Packaging
Our AUPA bars are currently packaged in our first generation packaging. This packaging comprises a black aluminum foil wrapped around the bar that is then slid into a printed kraft paper sleeve. However, the foil around the bar is not heat-sealed and is only folded, making it non-airtight. We have observed that when the bars are left in room temperature or warmer, some tallow can escape the foil wrapper and cause minor staining on the kraft paper sleeve. Although this is not ideal aesthetically, it does not affect the bar's taste, quality, or safety.
To address this issue, we are finalizing our generation 2 packaging, which includes a fully heat-sealed, biodegradable (certified compostable) wrapper that surrounds the bar. This creates an airtight container around the bar, ensuring that no tallow can escape, even in warm temperatures. Additionally, this new packaging will significantly improve the bar's shelf life. The kraft paper sleeve will remain the same as before.
Eating Recommendation
As AUPA bars are made entirely of natural ingredients and do not contain any fillers, binders, or preservatives, they may become soft in warm temperatures. Therefore, we highly recommend that our customers store them in a refrigerator, cooler, or chiller to maintain their firmness. Prior to consumption, remove the bars from the cold and unwrap them, which is easier to do when the bars are cool.
We want to emphasize that this is not a food safety issue but rather a suggestion for optimal enjoyment. AUPA bars are perfectly safe to store at room temperature, but to maintain their texture and consistency, refrigeration is recommended.
Shelf Life
We are working diligently to establish the exact shelf life of our AUPA bars. While we do not yet have an official timeframe, we want to provide our customers with the most accurate information possible. Our bars are currently undergoing rigorous lab-grade testing to determine their precise shelf life under different storage conditions.
Based on our conservative estimates, AUPA bars can last for a significant period when stored at room temperature, and even longer when refrigerated. Unofficially, we recommend consuming them within 6 months of purchase if stored in the refrigerator. However, we are striving to achieve a shelf life of 1-2 years once we gather more information through our testing process. We understand the importance of shelf life information for our customers and will provide updates as soon as we have conclusive results from our testing. See more on the FAQ page.
